Your industry is going through some major transformations, and unlike years gone by where some people could afford to miss out on attending them, now they can’t. Case in point, take for example what is going on in the smartphone industry. Massive overhauls of philosophy have taken place such as the bezels of phones have shrunk to a tiny size and now they are demanded to be gone completely by customers. Now it’s a race to have the first smartphone that is all screen-only. So think carefully, what kind of huge changes are going on in your industry and can you afford to not network or attend an event that explores them? You may have the solutions ready and you’re trying to garner enough attention to hopefully increase your customer pool, get some well-needed publicity and perhaps gain an investor or two. First of all, regardless of your idea and your excellent business plan, you need to be unique in how you approach an event.
One message only
In a giant blur, business events can go past. So many people are interacting with one another for the first time and therefore this brings up the uncomfortable truth of socializing. If we don’t know someone, we’re less likely to take them seriously, we’re less likely to give them our time or allow ourselves to see them as someone who we can trust. So rather than have multiple messages that you wish to convey at the event, pick one and only go with that. You can leave the rest of the idea in pamphlets, leaflets, on your website and on social media. However, it’s extremely important to only go with one idea only when you’re talking to people. Therefore they’re not bombarded with other minor issues. More than probable, they have been talking to lots of other business leaders, so if you try to explain multiple things that aren’t connected to the central message of your stall, you could be lost in their mind rather than become a memory.
Taking a stand
The physical stand you have at events is something more than a practical need. It should be a statement and a creative one at that. Many businesses hire people to wear a suit of their mascot, having video game installations, set up 4K ultra-HD televisions that are playing an advertisement or short video that expresses their reason for being at the event. The stand itself can allure people to you, with an element modular furniture set up, you can change the blocks to your business colors and structure them how you like. No doubt that a stand that is glowing and exhibiting vibrant colors, will get people thinking and curious. The blocks aren’t fragile so you can dress them up how you want, such as putting technological items on top such as a television or headphones. They need not be one color altogether either, as you can select different tones with your set up.
Remember to remain incredibly focused on one message at your business event. Leave all the smaller yet related issues for another day. You want to grab people’s attention from across the room, and therefore modular furniture that lights up is something you should consider.
