There are the obvious elements of your business that you will be focusing on. The client meetings, the finances, the product or service development etc. But, there’s so many more minor elements that seem to be forgotten about, but that we know will have a big impact on the success of your company. You might be floating along just fine at the minute, but there’s nothing to say that you can’t do anything better than you’re doing at the minute, and the one thing you should always focus on with business is the future. So, what elements do you think you’re missing at the minute? We know there’s a few things that the majority of you might not be focusing on, so let this article draw your attention to them. Below are 5 things we think you need to put into practice in your business, and how it can benefit you!
Securing Overseas Business Deals
You might not have even thought about taking your business overseas yet, which we can understand why. It’s such a big step towards the future of your business, and if you try and do it too early, you’re going to suffer with a big financial ordeal that you just might not be able to get yourself out of. But, when the time is right, you’ll know, and one of the first things you’ll have to do is secure an overseas deal or two. There’s no point signing contracts with shipping companies, or even attempting to set up an office in said country, if you haven’t even got a contract to fulfill. So, Think about how you can secure those deals, and how your business can come out looking the best in all of this. The first thing that you can do, is pick out the countries with the best economical climate, or who are going to offer you the best business deal. One of the biggest companies to set up trade with is China. The country is so huge, and the business trading to and from the country is one of the biggest in the world. However, the last thing you want to do is come across as unprofessional. So, if you were to go for a country as good as China, you might want to think about getting a Professional Chinese Mandarin translator. The same applies with any country or company that you go for. It’s going to look so much better on your half if you have taken the time and effort to find someone who speaks in the language of the company you’re trying to sign a deal with. Once your business is overseas, you should use the same tactic if you’re ever needing to have professional meetings. Not only is it polite, but it speeds up the process so much more, and makes the whole ordeal more pleasant for everyone involved.
Client/Customer Interaction
The way that you act with customers and clients is going to paint a big picture about your business. So much so, that we’re going to talk about brand reputation a bit further along the line. So, how do you think your client and customer interaction is at the minute, and do you think you’re putting in enough effort to go above and beyond? Probably not, your focus will be more on the section we’re going to discuss later, when this should be the main area that you’re thinking of. If you go above and beyond for your customers, word of mouth will spread it fast. From having people to pack shopping for customers, to have a 24/7 customer support email or telephone number for people to contact. If you were to do this, you would have to follow up with fluid contact as well. None of this waiting around, rude service, or lack of attention that a lot of customers get. If you put yourself is the shoes of your customers, this should make it all the more clear. You have to think about what you would want from a company, and what you have been failed on as a customer in the past.
Focusing On Employee Progression
You would be surprised at how many employees are left behind in the chain of people in a company. Think of it like your friends, you have that one favourite, and then the rest just sort of follow along in your mind. That’s what it’s like in business. There will be that one employee who is trained in absolutely everything, is allowed that little extra bit longer on their break, can go on their phone whenever they want… there’s just always one. But when you have a team of people on your side, this isn’t what you want to be doing. Progression should be wide spread, deserved, and not just linked to one employee. The more people that you have progressing through the ranks with your business, the more likely you are to have a strong team who are willing to go the extra mile for your business!
Better Brand Reputation
A better brand reputation is something you should always be striving for. How the public views you as a business will define how your business performs overall. Whether it be from word of mouth, your marketing campaigns, or the reviews that your customers leave you, it all needs to be focused on. To improve your brand reputation, you first need to improve how you view your company yourself. If your main focus in the money aspect of things, then brand reputation is probably something that’s going to take a little bit of a dip. However, if you’re focused on how the public perceives you, you can focus on getting ahead of your competitors, or growing your company, or working on the areas that the people are commenting on!
So, if you want a better business, we think that we’ve given you a few areas to focus on. Hopefully you can transform your business in no time!
