Finance expert Mike Periu on Pimco’s Mohamed El-Erian’s open letter to President Obama to offer Economic Turnaround Plan.
November 07, 2012 Mohamed El-Erian, CEO and Co-Chief Investment Officer of the Pacific Investment Management Company or PIMCO, which oversees over $1.8 trillion in fixed income investments, has some advice for the President. El-Erian, a well-respected investor and analyst, has published an open letter to the President offering a four-point plan to turn the economy around. The plan recommends:
- Restoring greater flexibility to our labor markets and making our workforce globally competitive in terms of skills and preparation.
- Addressing the huge problems in the housing market with an eye on a recovery and growth instead of just stabilization.
- Creation of a more robust, diverse and stable banking system.
- Address the fiscal cliff immediately.
