Getting Serious: Where An Industry-Changing Actions Begin

December 10, 2018 By Editor

Every so often a company will make some moves that changes the industry and the world forever. From something in time like when Audi brought out a four-wheel-drive sedan to beat out other rally competitors, Apple bringing out the first true smartphone in 2007, to Microsoft bringing out their operating system. These huge changes that haven’t just changed the industries they are respectively from, but changed the world all began somewhere. Most of the time, they begin behind closed doors, with serious talk about different ways of doing things. The bare bones philosophy of something we do is challenged and in all honesty, the hope is to replace or change it drastically. The ideas begin to gather steam when there are secret talks held behind the scenes and key players begin to take the lead. It’s little wonder then that movies are made about these moments such as the social network phenomenon. Your best-laid plans can become unstuck and routed if you don’t take the proper actions to protect them and keep them quiet. Only when you have the full plans ready to go should you ever consider going full throttle; that is of course if you have an intention of challenging an entire industry and world.

The full spectrum of possibilities

No doubt that the way you think about your idea is special to you. When you tell your close friends, close inner circle in your business or family members, they will see if differently. They might even put a dampener on your vision and make it sound like it wouldn’t work or that it’s not the revolutionary aspect you think it is. However, keep a strong mind and a solid heart as you move forward into bringing your idea into reality. They won’t know of the full spectrum of possibilities and thus, you shouldn’t expect overly generous applause for your idea. You have worked out what you need to do, where your product or service will latch onto in the market and what it will potentially change or even replace.

The thing is though, sometimes you should take to heart what someone has said to you or advised you to do. Not everyone is going to say negative or positive things. Some professionals that you consult with might just look at it as totally viable but only if you achieve certain things. For example the key component in your product might be pure platinum. However during stress tests it could fail, causing you to rethink what it should be made out of. This is when a trusted professional can come into play and give you advice or make you question your vision in different ways than you have before. So, be aware that you might know the full spectrum of possibilities even though you might not have the full expertise.

Holding a world-changing meeting

Perhaps the most cloak and dagger things in business is the potentially world-changing meeting. This is when you have something in the works, that is looking like it will blow the rest of the competition out of the water. You have done numerous tests, spoken to many people in your business such as those in the marketing, sales and research and development departments and you have factored in how consumers may react. To this end, you have a picture of what you are getting yourself into and whether or not it really is as big as you think it could be. This then gives your prominence and a guiding light to set up a meeting with people who could not only advise you but potentially act as supporters. Different people help in their own way, so you could speak to those in the media, private investors, investment firms and some of the top names in the manufacturing and distribution business.

First, you need a venue where you can call upon people to come and relax. The secret to having world-changing meetings in business, at least in the preliminary stages, is to attract big names to a place of seclusion. The reason for this is, you don’t want any unwanted leaks of your idea and or product or service. You don’t want the media to come sniffing around at a public party held right out in the open, like somewhere in a city center. Here you can find out more of the different kinds of venues you can book, that offer seclusion. One of which is the Villa Maria. The perfect escape from the city, it offers green fields and hills, with treelines that offer you privacy. The Hurakia Lodge is another such place where the countryside is surrounding the venue, giving you space to talk and be seen freely.

What could you achieve?

One of the key things you can achieve at such a meeting, is people with power coming on board with you. You need someone who can hold you up if things get tough, which is why inviting investors is a big deal. No doubt, you will have factored in how aggressively your rivals will react to a product or service you have made, that threatens them. Consumers will be switching to you and jumping ship en masse which is why some of will pour huge resources into combating your move.

Getting financial backing is one thing, but getting companies that can make, deliver and sell your product is another. If you can convince such names to come on board with you and sign contracts that allow you to achieve your goals. This means that with the right contacts and friends in business, you can meet the demand by having more than enough means to supply. If you can get to them first, these big names won’t be inclined to take an offer from your rival who may try to procure their services so you cannot meet the requirements of customers.

Only you can see the full list of possibilities your product or service can achieve. So be wary of who you talk to and how serious you take their opinion. Far better to take the word of a mentor or professional seriously than take to heart the words of someone you love but knows nothing of your industry.
